The “Recalibrating Afrikanistik” (RecAf) project invites young researchers and lecturers working in the field of African Studies to submit abstracts for the conference ‘Creativity in Language and Beyond’. The conference is organized by the Federal University of Wukari and will be held in Abuja, Nigeria.

As time passes, language, literature, popular culture and the rest of the humanities seem to be open to new knowledge
formations that either push their boundaries or establish new paradigms for them. These changing knowledge phenomena
deserve studying.

Creativity in Language and Beyond international conference/summer school will serve as just the ideal avenue for (re)considering how language, literature, popular culture and African Studies and related disciplines in different ways adapt to new social modes in Nigeria and across Africa.
